Welcome to Rotherhithe Skip Hire. These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our skip hire services. By hiring a skip from us, you agree to comply with the following terms. Please read them carefully to ensure a smooth and satisfactory experience.
1. Booking and Payment
Booking Process: All skip hire bookings must be made in advance through our online booking system or by contacting our customer service team. Bookings are confirmed upon receipt of payment.
Payment Terms
Full payment is required at the time of booking. We accept various payment methods, including credit/debit cards and bank transfers. In the event of a booking cancellation, refunds will be processed according to our cancellation policy.
2. Skip Usage
Permissible Use: Our skips are intended for the disposal of general household waste, construction debris, garden waste, and recyclable materials. Use of the skip for hazardous or prohibited materials is strictly forbidden.
- Allowed items include furniture, appliances, construction materials, and garden refuse.
- Prohibited items include asbestos, tires, batteries, medical waste, and chemicals.
3. Delivery and Collection
Delivery: Our team will deliver the skip to the specified location on the agreed date. It is your responsibility to ensure that ample space is available and that access is unobstructed for both delivery and collection.
Collection: Once the skip is filled to capacity or at the end of the rental period, we will arrange for its prompt collection. Overfilling the skip beyond its capacity may incur additional fees.
4. Rental Period
The standard rental period is typically 7 days from the date of delivery. Extensions can be requested but are subject to availability and may attract extra charges. Please ensure you inform us in advance if you require an extension.
5. Insurance and Liability
Insurance Coverage: Rotherhithe Skip Hire holds public liability insurance to cover any accidental damage caused during the delivery and collection of the skip. However, clients are responsible for any damage to their property resulting from the placement of the skip.
Liability: We are not liable for any loss, damage, or injury resulting from the misuse of the skip or non-compliance with these Terms and Conditions.
6. Prohibited Items and Disposal
The following items are strictly prohibited from being disposed of in our skips:
- Batteries
- Asbestos-containing materials
- Electronics
- Medical waste
- Chemicals and hazardous substances
- Tires and automotive fluids
Disposal of these items is subject to legal restrictions and environmental regulations. Violations can result in immediate termination of the rental agreement without refund.
7. Health and Safety
Clients must adhere to all health and safety guidelines when loading the skip. Ensure that sharp or hazardous objects are securely wrapped, and heavy items are evenly distributed to prevent shifting during transport.
8. Cancellations and Refunds
Cancellation Policy: Cancellations made at least 48 hours before the scheduled delivery will receive a full refund. Cancellations made within 48 hours may incur a cancellation fee of up to 50% of the booking cost.
Refunds for damaged or missing items must be reported within 14 days of collection. Valid claims will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
9. Compliance with Local Regulations
Clients are responsible for ensuring that the skip is placed in a location that complies with local council regulations and does not obstruct public pathways or private property without permission.
Permits and Approvals
In certain areas, a permit may be required to place a skip on public land. It is the client's responsibility to obtain any necessary permits. Failure to do so may result in fines and additional charges.
10. Changes to Terms and Conditions
Rotherhithe Skip Hire reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Clients will be notified of significant changes prior to their next booking. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of [Jurisdiction]. Any disputes arising from the use of our services will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in this area.
